• Tanya Eileen Perry made an initial appearance on a theft-second degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 27. Perry was released on her promise to appear.
• Stephanie Marie Manning made an initial appearance on a assault charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Feb. 8 in Magistrate Court. Manning will hire her own counsel. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Elizabeth M. Bell made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a competency hearing and a competency evaluation warrant. The hearing is rescheduled at 2:30 p.m. today. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.
• Andrew Allen Hilleman, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury charge and a child endangerment charge. Hilleman will hire Jennifer Bonzer as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 19. If he owns or possesses any firearms or ammunition, Hilleman is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. No-contact orders have been issued for the protected parties.
• Almaz Kesete Tilahun made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $320, due within 30 days.
• Mary Lou Daniel made an initial appearance on a no insurance-accident charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled a 9 a.m. on Jan. 25.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 1005 W. Lincolnway and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1609 S. First St., 211 S. Third St., 125 N. 11th St., 211 S. Third St., 1108 E. Main St., and 409 E. Boone St.
