• On Friday, Ernest Sam Jr., 36, was arrested for unauthorized use of a credit card and identity theft.

• On Friday, Celina Victor, 22, was arrested for conspiring intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.

• On Friday, Brenda Chavarria-Guevara, 30, was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• On Saturday, Joseph Ashby, 36, was arrested for violation of probation.

• On Saturday, Robert Bradley, 27, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Aug. 9, a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old female was exiting the Hy-Vee parking lot to the right when she turned too far and entered the eastbound traffic lane. Realizing her mistake she attempted to back up and collided with a vehicle driven by Margaret Ann Thomsen, 78, of Toledo. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for no valid driver’s license. Damage to the juvenile’s vehicle was estimated at $800 while the Thomsen vehicle received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Aug. 13, a car driven by Nicholas George Carl, 75, of Marshalltown, eastbound on Summit Street when it attempted to turn onto Third Street directly in front of a motorcycle driven by Kwand Aysaan Woods, 43, of Marshalltown, resulting in Woods laying his cycle down to avoid a collision. No injuries were reported. Carl was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the Woods motorcycle was estimated at $2,000.

• On Aug. 13, a car driven by Mercedes Kay Walker, 21, of Haverhill, was northbound on South Center Street when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Barry Edward Brockman, 68, of Beaman, which was slowing for traffic. No injuries were reported. Walker was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500.

• On Saturday, a car driven by Michael David Kallestad, 66, of Wellsburg, was westbound on West State Street when it broad-sided a vehicle driven by Anita Aileen Ringgenberg, 46, of Marshalltown, which was traveling north on North Ninth Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $4,000 each.

• On Saturday, a car driven by Susan Lynn Nugent, 60, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South Center Street when it collided with the rear of a cargo van driven by Nicholas Andrew Chipps, 34, of Marshalltown, which was stopped at a red light. Chipps was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Nugent was cited for failure to maintain control and no insurance-accident. Damage to the Nugent car was estimated at $2,000 while the Chipps cargo van received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

• On Sunday, a vehicle driven by Sidney Bruce Hass, 68, of Marshalltown, was southbound on South Center Street when it went out of control, struck a street light pole and drove ahead to a parking lot. No injuries were reported. Hass was cited for failure to maintain control and operating while intoxicated. Damage to the Hass vehicle was estimated at $4,000 while the street lamp pole received an estimated $180 in damage.

• On Saturday, an incident where property was damaged in the commission of a burglary was reported to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

Arrests

• On Friday, Ernest Eugene Sam Jr., 36, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Celina Marie Victor, 22, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Marcus Washington Jr., 21, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Sunday, Alfredo Rico, 22, was arrested for voluntary absence from custody and three counts of probation violation.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Sunday, Dylan Hoffert, 20, of Waterloo, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with probation violation. Hoffert is being held without bond.
