• Jeremy Ian Roberts made an initial appearance on a public consumption of alcohol-first offense charge and a trespass-first offense charge. Roberts pleaded guilty to both charges. On the public consumption of alcohol charge the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The fine on the trespass charge is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $522.50. All payments are due within 30 days.

Accidents

• On May 7, a pickup driven by Joseph Brian Greene, 43, of Marshalltown, was attempting to negotiate his way through roadwork on South Sixth Street when it collided with a car driven by Fabian Shawn Grogan, 48, of Marshalltown, as Greene turned left toward West Ingledue Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $2,000 each.

• On Friday, , a car driven by Brittnie Renee Card, 23, of Eldora, was westbound on LaFrentz Lane stopped at the stop sign at South Center Street. Card was attempting to pull out onto Center Street when it collided with the rear passenger side quarter panel of a pickup driven by Murl Eugene Stowe, 53, of Marshalltown, which she thought was signaling to turn into LaFrentz Lane. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Stowe pickup was estimated at $2,000 while the Card car received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

• On Friday, a vehicle driven by Arturo Juarez Rodriguez, 50, of Marshalltown, was westbound on East Boone Street stopped at the intersection with South Third Avenue when it proceeded forward into the path of a vehicle driven by Tamara Lynn Keith, 55, of Marshalltown, after mistakenly thinking the driver was turning onto Boone Street after Keith signaled a lane change. No injuries were reported. Juarez Rodriguez was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the Juarez Rodriguez vehicle was estimated at $2,000 while the Keith vehicle received an estimated $800 in damage.

• On Friday, a vehicle driven by Dah Paw, 34, of Marshalltown, was northbound in the 500 block of North Third Avenue when it swerved to miss rear ending an erratic driver and sideswiped a car driven by Breanna Marie Gardner, 21, of Conrad. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Paw vehicle was estimated at $3,000 while the Gardner car received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Friday, a car driven by Amy Lois Haight, 44, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on East State Street when it moved over because of a westbound, non-contact vehicle and struck a legally parked Toyota 4-Runner sending it into a legally parked Toyota pickup. Haight was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Haight was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Haight car was estimated at $7,500 while the Toyota 4-Runner sustained an estimated $2,500 in damage and the Toyota pickup an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Shaddare Jammal Watkins, 26, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on West Merle Hibbs Boulevard when the driver lost control after hitting the curb, skidding into the eastbound lane, striking the curb again and rolling once before landing on its wheels and coming to a stop. Watkins fled the scene on foot. A female passenger was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown by a parent. Damage to the Watkins vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

• On Sunday, a car driven by Abby Elise Spinks, 37, of Toledo, was southbound on Sixth Street at the intersection with Olive Street and a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old from Garwin was westbound on Olive Street approaching the intersection with Sixth Street when both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Spinks car was estimated at $5,000 while the juvenile’s vehicle received an estimated $7,000 in damage. Both drivers said they had a green light.

• On Sunday, a Jeep driven by Christina Marie Behun, 51, of Montezuma, was driving in a parking lot east of South Center Street and north of LaFrentz Lane and a car driven by Janette Marie Kvidera, 64, of Marshalltown, was also driving in the same lot when the two traveled to the same area resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Kvidera car was estimated at $3,500 while the Behun Jeep received an estimated $500 in damage.

• On Monday, a car driven by Silvia Ramirez Martinez, 38, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Highland Acres Road stopped at the intersection with Lincoln Way when the driver proceeded forward crossing the path of a vehicle driven by Micki Linn Butler, 37, of State Center, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Ramirez Martinez was cited for no valid driver’s license and failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the Ramirez Martinez car was estimated at $3,000 while the Butler vehicle received an estimated $6,000 in damage.

• On Monday, an orange Chevrolet Colorado pickup driven by an unknown driver was southbound on South Third Avenue when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Shirley Ann Dent, 75, of Marshalltown, which was stopped awaiting traffic to clear to make a left turn. The driver of the Chevy Colorado fled the scene. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Dent car was estimated at $3,500 while the pickup received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Monday, a car driven by Than Htaik, 40, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Woodbury Street when it struck a legally parked Chevrolet Silverado pushing it into a legally parked Dodge Caravan. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Htaik car was estimated at $4,000 while the Silverado pickup received an estimated $1,500 in damage and the Dodge Caravan an estimated $250 in damage.

Arrests

• On Friday, Joshua Nelson, 33, was arrested for no insurance, no valid driver’s license, driving under suspension and driving while barred.

• On Friday, Anthony Weatherly, 22, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Friday, Jorge Alvarado, 44, was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear.

• On Friday, Ryan Nichols, 21, was arrested for violation of probation, driving while barred and voluntary absence from custody.

• On Friday, Paul Gibbs, 61 was arrested on a warrant charging him with two counts of habitual offender, operating while under the influence-third offense and driving while revoked or denied.
