Court — Tuesday

• Kevin Kyle Kroeger made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge and a trespass-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 8. Kroeger is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Richard Clair Lewis made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a child support hearing/contempt of court charge. Christian Stickrod was appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Bond is set at $500 cash only.

• Prince Assumani made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. Assumani pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Maturire Prince made an initial appearance through a Swahili interpreter on a disorderly conduct charge. Prince pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Malipo Sumaili made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. Sumaili pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• David Murindwa Gapunwa made an initial appearance through a Swahili interpreter on a disorderly conduct charge. Gapunwa pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Bileha Ramazani made an initial appearance through a Swahili interpreter on a disorderly conduct charge and a driving under suspension charge. Ramazani pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on the disorderly conduct charge is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days. The fine on the driving under suspension charge is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. All payments are due within 30 days.

Incidents

• On Monday, a case of reckless use of fire/explosives, two burglary of a motor vehicle and theft were reported in the 2900 block of Jackie Terrace.

Arrests

• On Monday, Robert Smith, 53, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Tuesday, Bileha Ramazani, 26, was arrested for driving under suspension and disorderly conduct.

• On Tuesday, Malipo Sumaili, 29, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• On Tuesday, Maturire Prince, 26, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• On Tuesday, David Gapunwa, 35, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• On Tuesday, Prince Assumani, 22, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Accidents

• On Friday, a minivan driven by James Leroy Kunch, 90, of Marshalltown, was traveling on Olive Street attempting to turn northbound onto Second Avenue and a pickup driven by Robert Allen Weiss, 30, of Eldora, was westbound on Olive Street when the collision occurred. Neither driver was sure how the accident happened. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Kunch minivan was estimated at $5,500 while the Weiss pickup received an estimated $3,000 in damage.• On Sunday, a vehicle driven by Lansin James William Lacina, 20, of Tama, was northbound on South Center Street when it entered the intersection on a red light and collided with a vehicle driven by Duane Lee Parizek Jr., 32, of Garwin. No injuries were reported. Lacina was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Lacina vehicle was estimated at $3,000 while the Parizek vehicle received an estimated $2,500 in damage.

• On Sunday, a Jeep driven by a 16-year-old female was northbound on 15th Street when it struck a parking sign on the shoulder disabling the Jeep. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for no valid driver’s license. Damage to the Jeep was estimated at $1,500.

• On Sunday, a car driven by David Michael Myers, 51, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South Center Street when it collided with the rear of a pickup driven by Michael James Johnson, 40, of Marshalltown, which was stopped for a red light. No injuries were reported. Myers was cited for leaving the scene of an accident-property damage only and driving while revoked. Damage to the Myers car was estimated at $2,000 while the Johnson pickup received an estimated $400 in damage.
