• Daneshua Lajae Shanta Coleman made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-using or displaying a weapon charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 24. Coleman was released on her promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Darryl Glenn Watson made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-second offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 24. Watson is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Michael Joseph Curley made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Allan Richards will be appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Douglas Lee Davis, of Waterloo, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a fraudulent use of registration charge. Davis pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 31.

• Kenneth Allen Drumm made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. Drumm pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on July 31 in Magistrate Court.

• Quentin Tyme Hafner made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. Hafner pleaded guilty to both charges. On the suspension charge the fine is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The speeding fine is $40 with a $19 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $119. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Crystal Marie Lennie made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 21. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Elijah Rivera, of Cedar Rapids, made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. Rivera pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 14 in Magistrate Court.

• Timothy John Rahn, of Ferguson, made an initial appearance on a providing tobacco to a minor charge. Rahn pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due by July 31.

• Jeffrey Allen Pepe made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Pepe pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on July 17 in Magistrate Court.

• Dyllan William Konen, of Ankeny, made an initial appearance filed through counsel on a no valid driver’s license charge and a speeding charge. Konen pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on July 31 in Magistrate Court.

Accidents

• On Thursday a car driven by Jenna Rose Roseland, 30, of Le Grand, was on the westbound exit ramp from Highway 30 to Highway 14 when it moved forward and collided with the rear of a minivan driven by Tammy Sue Losing, 37, of Le Grand, which was stopped at the stop sign. No injuries were reported. Roseland was cited for failure to stop in the assured, clear distance. Damage to the Losing minivan was estimated a $750 while the Roseland car received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

Incidents

• On Wednesday, a case of vandalism to property while committing a burglary was reported in Marshall County.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, Jacob Catherwood, 26, was arrested for driving while barred and interference with official acts.
