• Trisha Lynn Wilson failed to appear for an initial appearance on a criminal mischief-fifth degree charge and the court found her guilty. The fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 30 days.

• Kylan Isaac Roberts made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and an open container charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 5. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Lynn Denise Sagar made an initial appearance on an accessory after the fact charge. Sagar pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Christopher Tony Bounmy entered a guilty plea on a limitations consumer fireworks charge and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• A 15-year-old male made an initial appearance on curfew violation charge. The juvenile pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Devon Elliott made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge. Elliott pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

Incidents

• On Friday, an attempted burglary was reported in the 700 block of Woodbury Street.

• On Friday, two thefts were reported in the 400 block of East Boone Street.

• On Thursday, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported in the 800 block of South Center Street.

Arrests

• On Thursday, Daniel Lott Sr., 38, was arrested for striking an unattended vehicle.

Accidents

• On Thursday, a car driven by Fatima Hernandez Sanchez, 20, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South Center Street when the driver became distracted and collided with the rear of a vehicle drivne by Regina Marie Petersohn, 76, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Petersohn vehicle was estimated at $500 while the Hernandez Sanchez car received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

Arrests

• Kristine Mathisen, 42, of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, was charged with domestic abuse assault. She was released on her promise to appear.

• On Thursday, Adrian Johnson, 29, of Waterloo, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear for a theft-fifth degree. He was released on his promise to appear.

• On Wednesday, Shane Sharp, 39, of Grundy Center, was arrested on a warrant charging him with probation violation. Sharp is being held without bond.

• On Wednesday, Reece Harrenstein, 18, of Cedar Falls, was arrested for criminal mischief fifth degree. Harrenstein is released on his promise to appear.

• On Wednesday, Denzel Scott, 24, of Fort Dodge, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with driving while license is revoked. Scott was released on his promise to appear.

• On Monday, Drew Janssen, 38, of Holland, was arrested in Wellsburg on a Grundy County warrant charging him with domestic abuse assault-third offense and three counts of failure to appear. Janssen is being held in lieu of bond.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Terrance O’Loughlin, 25, of Hazelton, was westbound on Highway 20 approaching the off ramp at Highway 14 when the vehicle left the road, hit the mile post and a wooden sign as it entered the ditch, drove over a box culvert and went airborne and landed upright in a grove of trees. According to the driver’s statement, he went off road as a result of a medical condition. O’Loughlin was transported to the nearest hospital. Damage to the O’Loughlin vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

• On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Hans Bindner, 38, of Marcus, was westbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bindner vehicle was estimated at $6,000.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Aaron Domino, 37 of Cedar Falls, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Domino vehicle was estimated at $7,000.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Jeremy Brickhouse, 33, of Grundy Center, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Brickhouse vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

• On Monday, a semi driven by Eric Popelka, 38, of Clutier, was southbound on Pioneer Road at Main Street in Reinbeck when an Alliant Energy power line was hanging too low and caught the upper edge of the trailer resulting in three Alliant poles being damaged or broken. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Popelka semi was estimated at $15,000.
