Court — Tuesday

• Giles L. Steckman made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Marshon Dubbert will continue as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sept. 13.

• Shane L. Charlton made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Charlton is released on his promise to appear.

• Sawyer T. Kehm, of Mason City, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on a theft-fifth degree charge and an extradition request from Minnesota. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is rescheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 30 in Magistrate Court. The extradition hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Kehm is released on his promise to appear on the pre-trial conference charge and held without bond on the extradition.

• Rodney Ray Reahard, of Kentucky, made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge and a speeding charge. Reahard will hire his own counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 13. Reahard is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Samuel Patrick Williams made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Williams is released on his promise to appear.

• Richard Lee Shogren made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge and a contempt of court hearing charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation and contempt hearings will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

• Skylar Edward Allen made an initial appearance on an absence from custody charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 4. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• Dominique Da Shun Carroll made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Carroll is released on his promise to appear.

• Shannon Lyn McKay, of Union, made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana charge and a driving under suspension charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 12. McKay was released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

Accidents

• On Friday, a car driven by Austin Lee Anthony Stanley, 21, of Albion, was exiting a parking spot when the driver turned too soon and clipped the rear driver’s side of a Honda Civic. No injuries were reported. Stanley was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Honda Civic was estimated at $1,500 while the Stanley car received an estimated $200 in damage.

• On Saturday, a car driven by a 17-year-old female from Marshalltown was northbound on South Fourth Avenue when it struck a legally parked Honda Accord and then left the scene. The juvenile was located on Church Street and cited for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended, striking an unattended vehicle, failure to maintain control and striking fixtures on a highway. Damage to the juvenile’s car was estimated at $2,000 while the Honda Accord received an estimated $800 in damage.

• On Saturday, a black Honda Accord was legally parked on the street when it received hit and run damage from a white pickup. Damage to the Honda Accord was estimated at $4,000.

• On Sunday, a car driven by Samuel Joseph Guest, 25, of Des Moines, was eastbound on Marshalltown Boulevard when the driver missed the curve in the road and entered the right ditch driving approximately 200 yards before striking a large tree. Guest was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown by ambulance. Guest was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Guest car was estimated at $8,000.

Incidents

• On July 17, a case of vandalism to property in the breaking of a garage window and putting a hole in the vehicle windshield in the garage was reported to the Marshall County Sheriff.

Arrests

• On Monday, Ragan Elizabeth Victor, 37, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Monday, Skylar Edward Allen, 20, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Geraldine Rae Vodochodsky, 51, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Matthew Ray Hulin, 48, was arrested on a warrant.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Aug. 18, Heather Gutnecht, 34, of Cedar Falls, was arrested on 170th Street west of Grundy Road and charged with operating while under the influence-first offense. Gutnecht was released on her promise to appear.

• On Aug. 19, Theron Garcia, 25, of Toledo, was arrested at the Tama County Jail on a Grundy County warrant charging him with probation violation. Garcia is being held in lieu of bond.

Accidents

• On Saturday, a car driven by Arlene Bell, 47, of Conrad, was westbound on 330th Street east of Conrad when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bell car was estimated at $3,000.
