Court — Wednesday

• Mariyah Buckley made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Sherry Lee Reese, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointe as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 17. Reese is released on her promise to appear.

• Gabriel Sheppard made an initial appearance on an extradition request from the State of Illinois. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The extradition hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Sheppard is being held without bond.

• Priscilla Avalos made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and an operation without registration charge. Avalos pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 2 in Magistrate Court.

• Gabriel F. Cervantes made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a theft-fifth degree charge. Cervantes pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 30 days.

• Jamie Lee Lopez failed to make an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and an operating without registration charge. The court rendered judgment finding Lopez guilty. The fine on the driving under suspension charge is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the no registration charge is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Mufalme Christopher Museveni made an initial appearance through a Kinyarwanda interpreter on a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 17. Museveni was released on his promise to appear.

• Jesse Ontiveros made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. Ontiveros pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 2 in Magistrate Court.

• Marcus Ruben Castillo made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge, a driving under suspension charge and a failure to file SR-22 insurance charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 17. Castillo is released on his promise to appear. The court ordered that Castillo be photographed and fingerprinted at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office in connection with this case.

• On Tuesday, Heather Bell, 32, was arrested for speeding, reckless driving, no insurance, no valid driver’s license, improper rear lamps, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, two counts of failure to obey a stop sign, failure to carry a registration card, driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended and driving while barred.

• On Tuesday, Teryn Buckley, 23, was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.
