• Tyler James Sanders made an initial appearance on a serious domestic abuse assault charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 23. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Elizabeth Marie Bell made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Edwin Fernando Velasquez Barahona made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension charge, a speeding charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 3. Velasquez Barahona is released on his promise to appear.

• Dean Wesley Picotte made an initial appearance on an assault causing bodily injury charge, a public intoxication charge and a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing on the new charges is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 23. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $3,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Cynthia Bryant made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge, a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance-accident charge, a failure to maintain control charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 3. Bryant is released on her promise to appear.

• Danielle Marie Catron made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Catron pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 2 in Magistrate Court.

• Nathan Tyler Courtney made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Courtney is released on his promise to appear. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Dana Rea Coleman made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge, a no insurance charge, a open container charge and a stopping on the travel portion of a highway charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 3. Coleman is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Marco De Jesus Rodriguez made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge, a striking fixtures on a highway charge, a possession of marijuana-first offense charge and a no insurance charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 3. Bond will remain as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Kevin Anthony Hundley made an initial appearance on an assault charge. Hundley pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The court condemned the bond for payment with the remainder returned to the defendant.

• Kristin Isabelle Jefferson failed to make an appearance on a operating without registration charge and a driving under suspension charge. The court found her guilty on both charges. On the registration charge the fine is $20 with a $7 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $87. The fine on the driving under suspension is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Bobbi Jo Moorman Reed made an initial appearance on a striking an unattended vehicle charge, a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance-accident charge. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 16 in Magistrate Court.
