Court — Wednesday

• Joseph Wade Bown made an initial appearance on an attempted murder charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Nov. 1. Bond is set at $200,000 cash only. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Guyon Michael Garrett Lucas made an initial appearance on an burglary-first degree Charge, an assault while participating in a felony charge, a going armed with intent charge and a theft-fifth degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Nov. 1. Bond is set at $100,000 cash only. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected parties.

• Robert Louis Fite Jr. made an initial appearance on an accessory after the fact charge and a parole violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel on the accessory charge while Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel for the parole violation. The preliminary hearing on the new charge is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Nov. 1. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the administrative law judge. Fite is being held without bond on the charge.

• Sofia Ortiz Medina made an initial appearance on a drag racing charge. Ortiz Medina pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 in Magistrate Court.

• Grant Michael Carnahan made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Carnahan pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 in Magistrate Court.

• A 16-year-old male made an initial appearance on a drag racing charge, a violation of an instruction permit charge, a no insurance charge and a failure to maintain control charge. The no insurance charge was dismissed with court costs when proof of insurance was produced. The juvenile pleaded not guilty to the other charges and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 in Magistrate Court.

• Victor Perez Negron made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver charge and a failure to affix a drug tax stamp charge. Perez Negron will hire his own counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 12. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Antonio Marco Sanchez Hernandez made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a driving under suspension charge. Sanchez Hernandez pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Kaily Lynette Beeghly failed to make an appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a failure to use child restraint device charge and the court found her guilty on all charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the driver’s license charge is $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. The fine on the child restraint device charge is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Mercedes Kay Walker made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. Walker pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 in Magistrate Court.

• On Monday, two burglaries from a camper in a garage were reported in Laurel.

• On Tuesday, a theft of a black cast iron pot was reported in Marshall County.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Deanna Seiler, 56, was arrested for assault causing bodily injury.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Cesar Garcia Ramirez, 36, was arrested on a warrant for two counts of sexual abuse-second degree.
