Court — Monday

• Garang Bior Ajang, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge, an interference with official acts charge, a failure to maintain control charge and an open container charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 6. Ajang was released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days. The court ordered Ajang to be photographed and fingerprinted within 48 hours in connection with this case.

• Chrissy Lynn Lederer made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-second offense-methamphetamine charge and false reporting of an indictable offense to a public entity charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 27. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. Upon release Lederer will have 60 days to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court.

• Khem Prasad Adhikari made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 6. Adhikari was released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Mark Anthony Soard made an initial appearance on a possession of meth charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Aron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 6. Soard is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Alexander Michael Wayne Anderson made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway charge. Anderson pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the driving on the wrong side of the highway is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Shayleen Kay Wilson made an initial appearance on an unlawful passing of a school bus charge. Wilson pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 in Magistrate Court.

• Abdelfattah Saki made an initial appearance on an unlawful passing of a school bus charge. Saki pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 in Magistrate Court.

• Khamphet Luong made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge and a failure to maintain control charge. Luong pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 in Magistrate Court.

• Stephanie Michelle Friedman made an initial appearance on an unlawful passing of a school bus charge. Friedman pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 in Magistrate Court.

• Rosendo Sanchez Cuarenta made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a driving under suspension charge. Sanchez Cuarenta pleaded guilty to the charge and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Susan Kaye Lurvey made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-second offense-marijuana charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a speeding charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 6. Lurvey is released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Brooke Hickman made an initial appearance on a no insurance-property damage accident charge. Hickman pleaded guilty and the fine is $500 with a $175 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $735, due within 30 days.

• On Sunday, Nov. 17, a case of identity theft was reported in the 900 block of South Second Street.

• On Saturday, Nov. 16, a theft of a motor vehicle was reported in the 700 block of Iowa Avenue West.

• On Friday, Nov. 15, a theft was reported in the 900 block of South Second Street.

• On Sunday, Mark Soard, 56, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

• On Sunday, Chrissy Lederer, 40, was arrested for controlled substance violation.

• On Sunday, Jessica Hartwig, 36, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense and trespass.

• On Sunday, Garang Ajang, 40, was arrested for interference with official acts, open container, failure to maintain control and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Saturday, Loe Say, 36, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Saturday, William Perry, 41, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-third or subsequent offense.

• On Saturday, Michael Morales, 19, was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Saturday, Eric Murillo, 27, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• On Friday, Rogelio Sanchez Sanchez, 28, was arrested for driving while barred.
