• Justin Scott Zitzow made an initial appearance on a burglary-third degree charge, a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge, a possession of burglar tools charge and a criminal mischief-third degree charge. Jeff Hazen has been appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 8. Bond is set a $5,000 cash only. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.
• Jaramie Bershell Trumbo failed to make an initial appearance on a trespass charge. The court entered a not guilty plea and the pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 6 in Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $300 cash or surety.
• Kaleb Brook McKinsey made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the administrate law judge. McKinsey is being held without bond.
• Michael Jay Ingerson made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a possession of a controlled substance-second offense charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a no insurance charge. Tyler Heeren has been appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 19. Bond is set a $2,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation has been ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.
• Diego Alfredo Nunez Flores made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. A pre-trial conference on the paraphernalia charge is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 in Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.
• Bernabe Martinez Vazquez made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.
• Lu Meh made an initial appearance on a striking an unattended vehicle charge. Meh pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.
• Jason Luciano Brown, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana charge, a speeding charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 15. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.
• Robert Eugene Smith made an initial appearance on a striking an unattended vehicle charge and a no insurance-accident charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 4 in Magistrate Court.
• Horacio Moreno made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 18.

• On Thursday, a theft was reported in the 900 block of South Second Street.
• On Thursday, a burglary occurred in the 2900 block of West Lincolnway.
• On Thursday, Oct. 31, four burglaries were reported in the 1600 block of West State Street.
Arrests
• On Friday, Michael Ingerson, 20, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, driving under suspension, possession of a controlled substance-second offense and on a warrant.
• On Friday, Gage Gunderson, 18, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• On Thursday, Diego Nunez Flores, 28, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant.
• On Thursday, Zachary Miller, 21, was arrested on a warrant.
