Court — Monday

• Matthew John McCarthy made an initial appearance on a contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order charge. Michael Marquis will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. McCarthy is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 24 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. McCarthy is ordered to contact his attorney within 24 hours. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Angel Marie White made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. White is released on her promise to appear. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Ryan Andersen, of Grinnell, made an initial appearance on a passing contrary to a sign charge. Andersen pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 5, 2020 in Magistrate Court.

• Luther Dewayne Brown made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a failure to obtain SR-22 insurance charge and a speeding charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17, 2020.

• On Friday, Hunter Schaper, 23, was arrested for driving under suspension and operating while under the influence-second offense.

• On Sunday, Bradley Michael Starn, 36, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Kimberly Jean Oelmann, 46, was arrested on a warrant.
