• Phillip Randell Dunston made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Melvin Martin Jr. made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge and a possession of marijuana charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 17. Martin is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Jose De Jesus Medina Cervantes made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge, a possession of a controlled substance-first offense-methamphetamine charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Feb. 17. Medina Cervantes is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Thomasine Keahna made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-causing bodily or mental illness-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 7. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Thomas Joseph Schaefer made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a pre-trial conference charge. The pre-trial conference is rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 7. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• On Monday, Melvin Martin Jr., 38, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-marijuana-third or subsequent offense and possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense.

• On Monday, Daniel Ramirez, 36, was arrested for driving under suspension.
