Court — Monday

• April Leah Jefferson made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and an open container charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 24. Jefferson is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Araceli Ambriz made an initial appearance on a permitting an unauthorized person to drive charge. Ambriz pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 12 in Magistrate Court.

• Refugio Gonzalez made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. Taylor Reichardt has been hired as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 24. Gonzalez is released on his promise to appear.

• Jefferey Donald Kelly made an initial appearance on a criminal mischief-fourth degree charge. Kelly will represent himself before the court. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 24. Kelly is released on his promise to appear.

• Colton Jagger Baker Lagerquist made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, an eluding charge and a interference with official acts charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 24. Lagerquist is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Amy Lashell Anderson failed to make an appearance on a driving under suspension charge and the court found her guilty. The fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Arturo Mujica Gallardo made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. Mujica Gallardo pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Amber Smith made an initial appearance on a no valid driver’s license charge and a speeding (1-5 over) charge. Smith pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 12 in Magistrate Court.

• Oscar Garcia Galaviz made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. The authorities failed to file the charge and the magistrate dismissed it.

Incidents

• On Friday, two burglaries were reported in the 600 block of South 15th Avenue.

• On Sunday, an attempted burglary was reported in the 900 block of Iowa Avenue West.

• On Friday, Hector Varela Jr., 31, was arrested on a warrant.• On Monday, Andrew Jefferson, 37, was arrested for open container and a on a warrant.

• On Saturday, Jaiden Vanlaw, 19, was arrested for assault with intent to inflict serious injury.

• On Sunday, Molly Gummert, 33, was arrested for trespass-first offense.

• On Monday, April Jefferson, 41, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, open container, driving under suspension and driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Saturday, Elizabeth Marie Leiss, 33, was arrested for speeding, theft-first degree, operating while under the influence-third or subsequent offense and driving a commercial vehicle while disqualified.

• On Saturday, Stephanie Renee Price, 36, was arrested on a warrant charging her with child endangerment causing bodily injury.

• On Saturday, Thomas David Libke, 25, was arrested on a warrant charging him with theft-fourth degree, unauthorized use of a credit card and identity theft.

• On Saturday, Simon Lee Buffalo, 38, was arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense.

• On Saturday, Eric Grayson Sloppy Sr., 50, was arrested for rabies vaccination violation.
