Marshall County Courthouse

Court — Monday

• Michelle Angelique Davenport made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Davenport pleaded guilty and the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Luis Javier Mendoza Soto made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• Deshawn Muhammad made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Muhammad is being held without bond.

Muhammad was also seen on an interference with official acts charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Muhammad pleaded not guilty to both charges.

• Julian Gordon Spencer made an initial appearance on an animal neglect charge and a no rabies vaccine charge. Spencer pleaded guilty to both charges and the fines were $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 on each charge, due within 30 days.

• Casey Michael Alman failed to make an appearance on a driving under suspension charge and the court found him guilty. The fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 iin court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Kyaw Say Poe made an initial appearance through a Karen interpreter on a driving under suspension charge. Poe pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 25 in Magistrate Court.

• Jacob James Lillibridge made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Lillibridge pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on March 25 in Magistrate Court.

• Manuel Vargas Rosas made an initial appearance on a no valid driver’s license charge and a no insurance charge. Vargas Rosas pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 25 in Magistrate Court.

• Joseph Hart made an initial appearance on a no valid driver’s license charge and a no insurance charge. Hart pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 25 in Magistrate Court.

Marshall County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Friday, Ryan Patrick Clemens, 28, was arrested for forgery, burglary-second degree and on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Lilea Moore, 19, was arrested for violation of probation.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Feb. 8, Curtis Olmstead, 47, of Waverly, was arrested by Bremer County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with theft-fifth degree. Olmstead was released from Grundy County on his promise to appear.

Accidents

• On Feb. 3, a vehicle driven by Nicole Bovy, 31, of Reinbeck, was northbound on W Avenue just north of Reinbeck when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bovy vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

• On Feb. 12, a semi driven by Brian Maddox, 23, of Enid, Okla., was westbound on Highway 20 when the driver lost control due to blowing snow and slick roads and in an attempt to avoid striking a car, it ended up in a ditch where it jackknifed. No injuries were reported. Damage to the semi was estimated at $6,000.
