• Erick Barajas made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge, an open container charge, a speeding charge and a operating while under the influence charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel on the operating while under the influence charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 11. Barajas was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days. He pleaded not guilty to the no insurance charge and produced proof of insurance. The case was dismissed with $60 in court costs assessed. Barajas pleaded guilty to the other two charges. On the open container, charge the fine is 200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. The fine on the speeding charge is $40 with a $14 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $114. All payments are due within 30 days. Barajas was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Ross James Pentz made an initial appearance on an assault charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 28. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Matthew Michael Blink made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 12. Blink was ordered to be fingerprinted within 30 days. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Thomas Jeremy Lopez made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 12.

• Jennifer Renee Dugan made an initial appearance on a unlawful passing of a school bus charge. Dugan pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• James Leman Munsinger made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Munsinger pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on May 6 in Magistrate Court.

• Vanessa Alexandra Gomez made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence charge and a driving under suspension charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 12. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.
