• John Paul Merschbrock made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Aron Vaughn was appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Merschbrock is being held without bond.

• William Thomas Burns made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 17.

• Rocio Esmeralda Reyes made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-second offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 17. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Raul Ricardo Mares Rodriguez made an initial appearance on two counts of a driving under suspension charge. Mares Rodriguez pleaded not guilty to both counts. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on March 25 in Magistrate Court.

• Michael Rangel made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Rangel pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $282.76, due within 30 days.

• Gilbert Ramedo Griego made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Griego pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Ashley Gisell Valencia made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge. Valencia pleaded guilty and her fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Jesus Pina made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge and a no proof of vaccination charge. Pina pleaded guilty to both charges. The fines on the charges is $65 each with a 22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $212.75, due within 30 days.
