Friday

• Jamaine Anthony Simmons made an initial appearance on a sex abuse-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 17. Bond is set at $50,000 cash only. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Shane Michael Jensen made an initial appearance on a unlawful possession of prescription drugs charge and on a warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 17. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety on the warrant charge. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Scott Edward Mills Jr. made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Aron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 4 in Magistrate Court.

• Ariel Lee Perkins made an initial appearance on a unlawful possession of prescription drugs charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 27. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Daniel Ramirez made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Ramirez pleaded not guilty. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 4 in Magistrate Court.

• Timothy Ernie Savage made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 4 in Magistrate Court.

• Guyan Michael Garrett Lucas made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $3,000 cash only.

• Jeffrey Leonard Hinkle made an initial appearance on aa assault on persons of certain occupation charge and a public intoxication charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 27. Hinkle is released on his promise to appear.

• Zachary Marcus Woerner made an initial appearance on a unlawful possession of prescription drugs charge, possession of THC wax-first offense charge and possession of drug paraphernalia charge The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 27. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Cheryl Wickham made an initial appearance on a fraudulent practice-fifth degree charge. Wickham pleaded not guilty. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 4 in Magistrate Court.

Incidents

• On Friday, the theft of a 20 foot flatbed equipment trailer was reported stolen in Marshall County

• On Wednesday, a theft of a right side headlight from a Pontiac Grand Prix was reported in Marshall County.

Arrests

• On Thursday, Guyan Michael Garrett Lucas, 22, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Nickolas Ray Glenn, 32, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Shyanna Hayward, 21, was arrested on a warrant charging her with identity theft and forgery.

• On Wednesday, Zachery Stream, 30, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of parole.

• On Tuesday, Lucas Hulin, 25, was arrested for no insurance-accident, failure to maintain control and operating while under the influence-second offense.

• On Tuesday, Jacob Roop, 23, was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to obey a stop sign, no insurance-accident, driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended, leaving the scene of an accident and violation of parole.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Thursday, Alivia Thorn, 21, of Waterloo, was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office and charged with theft-fourth degree. Thorn was released on her promise to appear.

• On Monday, Jared Galloway, 36, of Conrad, was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office and charged with criminal mischief-fourth degree. Galloway posted bond and was released.

• On Monday, Christina Wooley, 40, of Holland, was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office and charged with theft-fourth degree. She posted bond and was released.

• On Friday, Ben Keller, 39, of Conrad, was arrested in Conrad and charged with assault while using or displaying a dangerous weapon and two counts of trespass. Keller posted bond and was released.

• On Monday, Jeromey Bridges, 31, of Eldora, was arrested in Grundy Center, and charged with leading the scene of a personal injury accident, possession of drug paraphernalia, following too closely and driving under suspension. Bridges is being held in lieu of bond.

• On Thursday, Gretchen Madden, 35, of Wellsburg, was arrested in Grundy Center and charged with domestic abuse assault. Madden was released on her promise to appear.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Wendy Monaghan, 48, of Grundy Center, was eastbound on Highway 175 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Monaghan vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

Marshalltown Fire Department

Feb 2

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a sprinkler activation due to a malfunction at 611 N. Third Ave., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 3010 S. Center St. and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 314 N. 16th St. and 1918 S. Center St.

Feb. 1

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident no injuries at South Center Street and Merle Hibbs Boulevard, two medical assists with the EMS crew to 905 Iowa Avenue Wet and 105 S. Ninth St. and three dispatched/cancelled en route to: 633 W. Lincoln Way, 208nSharon Av. and 1211 W. State St.

Jan. 31

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 911 Jackson St. two dispatched/cancelled en routes to 1301 Summit St. and 1700 E. Nevada St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2 N. Second Ave., 1315 W. Main St., 210 N. Third Ave. and 3202 S. 12th St.

Jan. 30

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Center Street and Ingledue Street and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 513 E. Olive St., 3202 S. 12th St., 402 Richard Lane and 920 Finkle Ave.

Jan. 29

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 207 W. Grant St., two dispatched/cancelled en routes to 602 E. South St. and 910 E. Olive St. and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 805 E. South St., 1619 S. 12th St., 608 W. Madison St., 1 W. Grant St. and 616 W. Boone St.

Jan. 28

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three dispatched/cancelled en routes to: 402 N. 10th Ave., 1501 E. Nevada St. and 103 S. 12th St. and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 111 N. Seventh St., 203 Thomas Drive, 405 N. 15th Ave., 513 E.Olive St., 1516 E. Olive St., 307 N. First St. and 1211 W. State St.

Jan. 27

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 312E. Main St., two non incident found upon arrival at dispatched address at 7 Edgeland Drive and 1514 S. Sixth St. and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 305 S. First St. and 208 W. Grant St.
