Court

• Angel Lynn Ascher made an initial appearance on a sex abuse-second degree charge and a dissemination obscene materials to a minor charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on July 17. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Heather Lynn Bell made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, two counts of a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance-accident charge, and a leaving the scene of an accident charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on July 27.

• Stefani Jo Perdue made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-second offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on July 27. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Cheyenne Lucille Johnson made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Johnson pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Andrew Stengele III made an initial appearance on two counts of a theft-fifth degree charge. Stengele pleaded guilty to both charges and the fines are $65 on each count with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a vehicle accident, general cleanup at Center Street and Southridge Road, a carbon monoxide detector activation due to malfunction at 504 W. Linn St., a detector activation-no fire- unintentional at 703 S. Center St. and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 111 N. 11th Ave., 402 N. 10th Ave. and 1503 S. Second St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a gas leak at 6 S. Fifth Ave. and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 310 S. Second St., 10 S. Seventh Ave., 1002 S. Sixth St., 1703 Edgebrook Drive, 304 W. Meadow Lane, 1013 E. Anson St., 202 Bohen St., 208 W. Grant St. and 2012 S. Sixth St.

July 1

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims from vehicle at 3024 Reed Ave., an unauthorized burning at 208 1/2 S. Fourth St., a vehicle accident, general cleanup at 609 S. Ninth St., a HazMat release investigation with no HazMat at 312 W. Boone St., an assist an invalid at 514 E. Olive St., two dispatched/canceled en routes to 2 N. Second Ave. and 709 W. Church St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 302 Bromley St., 1211 W. State St., 508 S. Sixth St. and 209 Thomas Drive.

July 2

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two unauthorized burnings at: 2004 S. Third Ave. and 101 N. 19th St., five dispatched/canceled en routes to: 109 E. Lincoln St., 116 N. First St., 102 W. Church St., Wallace Avenue and 120th Street and 9 W. Grant St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 304 1/2 S. Second Ave., 209 Thomas Drive, 108 S. Fifth Ave. and 105 Washington St.

July 3

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a good intent call to 206 Nicholas Drive, a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Iowa Avenue and Center Street and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 611 E. South St., 206 Nicholas Drive and 202 N. Second Ave.

July 4

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 10 N. Seventh St., a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Iowa Avenue and South Center Street, a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at Highland Acres Road and Highway 30, two no incident found upon arrival at dispatched address at 400 N Fifth Ave. and 212 S. 15th Ave. and two trash or rubbish fires, contained at 16 Iowa Ave. West and 533 N. Third St. and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 219 E. Anson St., 1211 W. State St., 2012 S. Sixth St., 108 S. Second St. and 1009 S. Ninth Ave.

July 5

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two unauthorized burnings at 210 S. Fourth St. and 805 Bromley St. and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 5 N. Fifth Ave., 2801 Nelson Road and 514 E. Olive St.

• On Thursday, Angel Ascher, 22, was arrested on a warrant charging her with dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors and sexual abuse-second degree.
