Court — Friday

• Jose Fidel Castillo Alvarez made an initial appearance on a child endangerment charge and a domestic abuse assault charge. Ray Starks was appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Aug. 10. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Jamison Allyn Wyatt made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge and a driving under suspension charge. Wyatt pleaded not guilty on the no insurance charge and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 7 in Magistrate Court. Wyatt pleaded guilty to the driving under suspension charge and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Barbara Joe Edel made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Tyler Heeren will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $300 cash or surety.

• Arturo Manzo Macias made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension charge, a windshield violation charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Aug. 10.

• Nicholas Adam Weatherly made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, an improper brake light charge and two counts of a driving under suspension charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Aug. 7.

• Joshua Russell Haines made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Haines pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 21 in Magistrate Court.

Incidents

• On Thursday, a theft was reported in the 600 block of Woodbury Street.

• On Thursday, a theft from a building was reported in the 2300 block of South Center Street.

Arrests

• On Thursday, Barbara Edel, 69, was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• On Thursday, Martin Jamell, 29, was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• On Thursday, Lonnie Hill, 51, was arrested for interference with official acts, speeding, leaving the scene of an accident, no valid driver’s license, failure to obey a traffic control device, driving under suspension, eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense, intent to deliver cocaine, intent to deliver amphetamine and on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Aaron Dolash, 38, was arrested for driving while license is denied, suspended, revoked or canceled.

• On Thursday, Victor Hernandez-Moreno, 20, was arrested on a warrant.

July 13

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at 907 S. Center St. and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 505 S. Fifth St., 1505 S. 12th St. and 2500 S. Center St.

July 14

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1811 Sherwood Drive, 102 Palmer St., 402 N. 10th Ave., 3202 S. 12th St., 1500 Lincoln Tower Circle and 408 S. Ninth St.

July 15

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke or odor removal at 125 S. 11th St. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 808 S. Ninth Ave., 1701 W. State St., 2022 Elmcrest Drive, 1211 W. State St., 207 N. 16th St. and 506 N. Fourth Ave.

July 16

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a medical assist with the EMS crew to 511 S. Seventh Ave. and two dispatched/canceled en routes to 308 Sugar Plum Place and Highway 30 and Hart Avenue, State Center.

July 17

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 704 Lee St. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1 W. Grant St., 112 E. Linn St., 3002 S. 14th St., 3303 S. Center St., 1408 W. State St. and 312 E. Boone St.

July 18

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/canceled en route to 407 N. Fourth St. and two smoke detector activation-due to malfunction at 703 S. Center St. and 406 Summit St.

July 19

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a gas leak at 1911 S. Fourth Ave., a dispatched/canceled en route to 3202 S. 12th St., an unauthorized burning at 2010 Catalina Place, an electrical wiring or equipment problem at 1209 E. Glenwood Terrace, a smoke detector activation due to malfunction at 703 S. Center St. and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 2902 S. Center St. and 107 E. Lincoln St.
