Court — Friday

• Phoebe Blanche Kapayou made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Tyler Heeren will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 1. Bond is set at $3,000 cash or surety. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Steven Ray Ralls made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Oct. 14. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

• Laquetta Ward made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a driving while barred charge. Aron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 16.

• Marissa Dawn Nelson made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a no insurance charge. Mark Olberding is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 15.

• Kisha Christine Kutzner made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge and a failure to stop in the assured, clear distance charge. Kutzner pleaded guilty to both charges. On the no insurance charge the fine is $645 with a $96.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of 796.75. The fine on the failure to stop charge is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Carlos Manuel Morales Parra made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 4 in Magistrate Court.

• Damarus Lashaun Brown made an initial appearance on a harassment-third degree charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 28 in Magistrate Court. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Arrests

• On Thursday, Sept. 24, Chhabi Bhandari, 19, was arrested was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-first offense, criminal mischief-third degree and theft-second degree-possession of stolen property.

• On Thursday, Sept. 24, Ryan Purdy, 42, was arrested for harassment-first degree.

• On Thursday, Sept. 24, Phoebe Kapayou, 26, was arrested on a warrant charging her with three counts of contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• On Thursday, Sept. 24, Steven Ralls, 34, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.

Sept. 20

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning 901 E. Anson St., a dispatched/canceled en route to 11 W. Linn St. and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 207 N. 16th St., 104 Bohen St., 309 N. Third St., 203 1/2 S. Third Ave. and 309 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd.

Sept. 19

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/canceled en route to 210 E. Main St., two unauthorized burnings at 1411 W. Main St. and 1513 W. State St. and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2802 S. Center St., 2012 S. Sixth St. and 207 W. South St.

Sept. 18

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three dispatched/canceled en routes to: 611 Jerome St., 101 NewCastle Road and 810 S. Third Ave. and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1400 E. Olive St., 1009 S. Third Ave., 118 S. 10th St., 104 W. State St., 306 S. Fourth Ave., 2012 S. Sixth St. and 308 S. Third St.

Sept. 17

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at 3012 S. Center St., a smoke detector activation due to a malfunction at 312 W. Boone St., two dispatched/canceled en routes to 200 S. 12th Ave. and 1109 W. State St. and three medical assists with the EMS crew: 111 Harmony Drive, 536 N. Third St. and 101 W. High St.

Sept. 16

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 1736 Country Club Lane, two dispatched/canceled en routes at 1211 W. State St. and 405 S. Sixth St. and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 3202 S. 12th St.

Sept. 15

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury at 1603 S. Fifth St., three dispatched/canceled en routes to: 408 S. Ninth St., 102 Iowa Ave. West and 806 S. Sixth St. and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 710 W. State St., 3000 S. Center St., 410 E. State St., 109 S. Ninth Ave., 2603 S. Second Ave., two at 1603 S. Fifth St., 207 W. South St. and 906 S. 10th Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a gas leak at 1615 Lee St. and four medical assists at: North Third Street and West State Street, 105 E. Webster St., 108 S. Fifth Ave. and 808 N. Center St.
