Court — Friday

• Stacy Renee Kapayou made an initial appearance on a failure to file an arraignment charge. The arraignment hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 23. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Michael James Grandstaff made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Grandstaff pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50, due within 30 days.

Incidents

• On Thursday, a case of vandalism to property was reported in the 1300 block of West Linn Street.

• On Thursday, a burglary was reported in the 900 block of Iowa Avenue West.

Arrests

• On Thursday, Brice Bagnall Trejo, 20, was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• On Thursday, Jacob Chamberlin, 25, was arrested for driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 114 N. 10th Ave., three dispatched/canceled en routes to: 602 E. Church St., 202 N. Second Ave. and 1361 Prairie Ave. and 10 medical assists with the EMS crew to: 208 W. Lincoln St., 411 E. Boone St., 612 N. Fourth Ave., 1 W. Grant St., 105 E. Webster St., 909 Summit St., 105 E. Webster St., 1101 S. Third Ave., 114 N. 10th Ave. and 208 S. Sixth St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a cooking fire at 119 E. State St., an EMS call excluding vehicle accident with injury at 1603 S. Fifth St. and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: Lee Street and North Third Avenue, 1101 S. Third Ave., 2510 S. Sixth St., 114 N. Center St., 102 E. State St., 307 N. 14th Ave., 3202 S. 12th St., 1300 W. Boone St. and 605 N. First Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an arcing, shorted electrical equipment at 105 E. Webster St., an explosion-no fire at 611 N. Center St., a brush or brush and grass fire at 2014 Campbell Drive, two medical assists with the EMS crew to 101 N. Second St. and South Fifth Street and West Boone Street and five dispatched/canceled en routes to: 2605 S. Center St., 302 NewCastle Road, 8 S. Seventh Ave., 11 W. Grant St. and 501 1/2 N. Center St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a good intent call to 2500 S. Center St., a gas leak at North Sixth Avenue and Lee Street, an excessive heat, scorch burns with no ignition at 109 S. Second St., an unauthorized burning at 1116 W. Olive St., three dispatched/canceled en routes to: 107 N. First St., 1202 Larkfield Court and 501 N. Center St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2021 Elmcrest Drive, 1 E. Main St., 533 N. Third St. and 2 N. Second Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at East State Street and North Third Avenue, a carbon monoxide incident at 1606 W. Lincoln Way and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 311 N. Seventh St., 302 NewCastle Road, 2510 S. Sixth St., 1401 S. 17th Ave., 2012 S. Sixth St., 403 N. Center St. and 915 Merle Hibbs Blvd.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 905 W. Nevada St., an EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury at 3201 S. 12th St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 808 S. Ninth Ave., 2007 Wardview Road, 1007 S. 12th Ave. and 302 Nicholas Drive.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 700 May St., two dispatched/canceled en routes to 509 W. Boone St. and 1410 S. Second St. and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 508 S. Sixth St. and 112 N. First St.
