Court — Friday

• Stacy Renee Kapayou made an initial appearance on a pre-trial release violation charge. Kapayou is ordered by the court to contact her attorney, Marshon Dubbert, within 72 hours, to appear at the adult probation office within 72 hours and to be fingerprinted by the Marshalltown Police Department by Oct. 9.

• Robin Miller made an initial appearance on an absence from custody charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 9.

• Ryan Heath Chaplin made an initial appearance on an unauthorized credit card-theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 9. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Jeffrey Lynn Ross made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 23. Bond is $2,000 cash or surety.

• Ana L. Martinez made an initial appearance probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Oct. 20. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Rachel Lyn Williams made an initial appearance on a theft-fourth degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. A pre-trial conference is set at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 19.

• Kruz Allen McDermott made an initial appearance on a speeding charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. McDermott pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on the speeding charge is $165 with a $24.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $244.75. The fine on the driver’s license charge is $260 with a $39 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $354. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Rian Ray Popejoy made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 16. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Jose De Jesus Medina Cervantes made an initial appearance on a identity theft charge and an unauthorized use of a credit card charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 9. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• On Thursday, a hit and run accident was reported in the 100 block of North Fifth Avenue.

Citations

• On Friday, Stephan Allen Bullock, 29, was cited for failure to obey stop sign and yield the right of way.

Arrests

• On Friday, Ana Martinez, 30, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Ryan Chaplin, 39, was arrested for theft-third degree, credit card fraud, possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense and on a warrant.

• On Friday, Stephan Bullock 29, was arrested for driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended.

• On Friday, Stacy Kapayou, 42, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Jeffrey Ross, 50, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Rian Popejoy, 21, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-serious.

Sept. 27

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 9 W. Linn St., a no incident found upon arrival at dispatch address at East Main Street and 12th Avenue, three dispatched/canceled en routes to: 2700 240th St., 102 Iowa Ave. West and 411 N. 13th Ave. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1501 Summit St., 507 Bromley St., 22 N. First Ave., 109 S. Second St., 701 Westwood Drive and 117 N. Second St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 206 S. Third Ave., a cooking fire confined to the container at 515 E. Olive St., two dispatched/canceled en routes to South Fifth Avenue and East Church Street and 10 S. South Seventh Ave. and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 307 N. Seventh St., 510 W. Nevada S., 1200 E. Olive St., 122 W. Main St., 204 N. Sixth St., 613 1/2 E. Anson St., 102 W. Anson St., 512 Carson Drive and 111 N. Third Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to six dispatched/canceled en routes to: 1401 S. 17th Ave., 112 College Drive, two at 906 Benjamin Drive, 2802 S. Center St. and 507 E. Church St. and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 202 N. 16th St., 710 W. State St., 1500 Lincoln Tower Circle, 1200 E. Olive St., 505 E. Ingledue St., 504 E. Linn St., 1610 Elder Drive, 210 Huisman Circle and 1 W. Grant St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to four dispatched/canceled en routes to: 11 N. Third Ave., 1412 W. Church St., 206 N. First Ave. and 1211 W. State St. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1603 S. Fifth St., 207 S. Second St., 1603 S. Fifth St., 207 N. 16th St., 10 N. Fourth Ave. and 2012 S. Sixth St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three unauthorized burnings at: North 18th Street and West State Street, 2900 Arnold Drive and 303 W. Linn St. and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 407 W. Madison St., 1610 Elder Drive, 1503 W. State St., 408 W. High St., 1007 S. 12th Ave., 1 W. Grant St., 205 Olson Way, 111 S. Third Ave. and 1315 W. Main St.

Sept. 22

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a no incident found upon arrival at dispatch address at 600 Summit St., a dispatched/canceled en route to 50 Lafrentz Lane, a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 905 W. State St., an authorized controlled burning at 1914 W. Main St., a heat detector activation due to malfunction at 20 Iowa Ave. West, an invalid assist at 1500 Lincoln Tower Circle, two unauthorized burnings at 108 N. 14th Ave. and 11 N. Ninth Ave. and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1904 S. Fourth Ave., 701 Westwood Drive, 710 W. State St., 55 Central Iowa Drive and 514 E. Olive St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 100 E. State St., an unauthorized burning at Woodbury Street and North Sixth Avenue, an authorized controlled burning at 8 W. Grant St., a smoke detector activation due to a malfunction at 1602 S. Second Ave., three dispatched/canceled en routes to: 921 N. Third Ave., 1211 W. State St. and 304 Bromley St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 8 N. Seventh St., 1007 S. 12th Ave., 405 S. Sixth St. and 22 N. Second St.
