• Liliana Fuentes Nunez made initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Fuentes Nunez pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50, due within 30 days.

• Corey Alan Hilson made an initial appearance on a careless driving charge, a failure to carry a registration card charge, an operating while under the influence-second offense charge, a driving while barred charge, a speeding charge, a no insurance charge and an improper lane change charge. On the operating while under the influence-second offense charge and driving while barred charge the public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Nov. 24. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

Hilson pleaded guilty to all the other charges. On the careless driving charge, the fine is $50 with a $7.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $112.50. The fine on the failure to carry a registration card is $30 with a $4.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $89.50. On the speeding charge the fine is $55 with a $8.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $118.25. The fine on the no insurance charge is $325 with a $48.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $428.75. The improper use of lanes fine is $135 with a $20.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $210.25. All payments are due within 30 days.

• On Wednesday, Jared Smith, 39, was arrested on a warrant charging him with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
