• Perry Wayne DeWalt made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-second offense charge, a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and a speeding charge. • Adriano Jevon Montoya failed to make an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. The court found him guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50. Montoya also failed to appear on a no insurance charge and the court found him guilty. The tine is $325 with a $48.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $428.75.

• Rafael Lopez Barboza failed to make an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. The court found him guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, Feb. 14, an SUV driven by Susan Lynn Hlas, 67, of Toledo, was eastbound on the Garwin Road when it struck a coyote that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hlas SUV was estimated at $2,989.

• On Thursday, Feb. 9, a car driven by Deanna Rae Ward, 64, of Ames, was westbound on 190th Street when a deer exited the south ditch and was struck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ward car was estimated at $8,000.

• On Wednesday, Feb. 8, an SUV driven by Carol Ann Smolik, 60, of Albion, was southbound on Sanford Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway resulting in heavy front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Smolik SUV was estimated at $5,000.
