• Ivan Juan Gonzalez made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-first offense charge, a possession of marijuana-first offense charge, a possession of a controlled substance-first offense charge, a possession of a dangerous weapon while under the influence-first offense charge, an unlawful possession of a prescription drug charge, an interference with official acts charge, a dominion or control of a dangerous weapon by a felon charge, a no valid driver’s license charge, an open container charge, a fraudulent use of registration charge and an operating an non-registered vehicle charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on April 27. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash.

• Julie Ann McLean made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on May 2. Bond is set at $1,000 cash.

• Dustin Eugene Pherigo made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing charge. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on April 28.

• Carlos Daniel Monge Martinez failed to appear for a driving under suspension hearing and the court found him guilty. The fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

• Zachary Taylor Barnes failed to appear on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and the court found him guilty. The fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• Shamar Tan Re Lerma failed to make an appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. The court found Lerma guilty on both charges. The fine on the driving under suspension is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50. The fine on the speeding charge is $30 with a $4.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $89.50.

• Bailee Leanne Stier failed to appear on a driving under suspension charge and the court found her guilty. The fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, April 12, a car driven by Joshua Ryan Carpenter, 28, of Norwalk, was southbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway resulting in functional front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Carpenter car was estimated at $5,000.
