• Ian Russell Patterson made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. Francis Hurley is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on June 6.
• Miles Richard Riepe made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.
• K Two Esa made an initial appearance on a possession/purchase of alcohol by person 18/19/20-first offense charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on June 7 in Magistrate Court.
• Sakaraia Epineisar made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge and a possession/purchase of alcohol by person 18/19/20-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on June 6. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Juan Antonio Parra-Hernandez made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Taylor Reichardt is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash.
• David Jonathan Duran made an initial appearance on a harassment-first degree charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on May 26. Bond is set at $2,000 cash. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Victor Manuel Gonzalez Calderon made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a speeding charge, a failure to maintain registration plate charge and a no insurance charge. Patrick Peters is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on June 6.
• Zachary Jo McDonald made an initial appearance on operation of a non-registered vehicle charge and a driving under suspension charge. McDonald pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on the non-registered vehicle charge is $70 with a $10.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $135.50. The fine for the driving under suspension is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.
• Shana Nicole Arp made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. Aron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9;30 a.m. on June 6.
• Manuel John Rodriguez made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a no insurance charge, an operating a non-registered vehicle charge and a driving under suspension charge. Rodriguez will hire Melissa Nine as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on June 6.

• On Tuesday, May 16, Juan Parra-Hernandez, 41, was arrested on a warrant.
• On Tuesday, May 16, Jared Smith, 41, was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Tuesday, May 16, Miles Riepe, 40, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.
• On Tuesday, May 16, Dakota Broadway, 26, was arrested on a warrant charging him with driving while barred-habitual offender.
Accidents
• On Thursday, May 4, a car driven by Govanna Rodriguez Pimentel, 31, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Marshalltown Boulevard when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Rodriguez Pimental car was estimated at $2,500.
