• Harley Dean Ferch made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender's office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 14.
• Eric Hernandez made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. A pre-trial conference is set at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 13 in Magistrate Court for the DUS. A notice of conviction was sent to the state Department of Transportation on the speeding charge for $30 with a $4.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $89. 50.
• Lori Michelle Shukers made an appearance on a dog at large charge. Shukers pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.
• Rugabire Nkinzingabo failed to appear on a driving under suspension charge and a failure to obey a traffc control device charge. The court found him guilty on both charges. The fine on the driving under suspension is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50. The fine on the failure to obey a traffic control device is $135 with a $20.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $210.25.
• Brittany Kae Ring made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. Ring pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• On Thursday, Aug. 24, Brooke Anderson, 39, was arrested for theft-fifth degree-shoplifting.

Accidents
• On Tuesday, Aug. 15, a car driven by Ryan Anthony Mitchell, 16, of Liscomb, was westbound on Sand Road approaching a curve to the north when a deer jumped out of the ditch causing in the driver applying the brake too forcefully resulting in the car skidding into the ditch on the west side of the road and rolling onto its top. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Mitchell car was estimated at $12,000.
