• Nestor Antonio Mazariegos made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Mazariegos is being held without bond.
• Teagan James Danner made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. on Nov. 3.
• Darnell Wade Lamere made an initial appearance on an assault causing bodily injury or mental illness charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is waived. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Jessica Marie Catron made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Catron pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.
• Dustin Lee Carmer made an initial appearance on a trespass-first offense charge. Carmer pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $1 5.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.
• Clair Eve Renee Leonard made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 8 in Magistrate Court.

• On Sunday, Oct. 15, Jon Anderson, 62, was arrested for assault-insulting or offensive contact.
• On Sunday, Oct. 15, Millie Moreno Garcia, 52, was arrested for kennel and breeding of dogs and dog at large.
• On Sunday, Oct. 15, Bernard Brooks, 29, was arrested for harassment-second degree-threaten bodily injury, assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon and interference with official acts-armed with firearm.
• On Sunday, Oct. 15, Mary Rensch, 70, was arrested for theft-fifth degree-shoplifting.
• On Sunday, Oct. 15, Nathan Danner, 49, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident-vehicle damage only.
• On Saturday, Oct. 14, Amarra Powell, 25, was arrested for assault causing bodily injury-no intent.

Accidents
• On Monday, Oct. 2, a minivan driven by Rosa L. Marroquin, 62, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer in the roadway resulting in heavy front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Marroquin minivan was estimated at $5,000.
• On Wednesday, Sept. 27, a pickup driven by Michael Edward Ferrin, 33, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ferrin pickup was estimated at $1,500.
