• Rocio Nunez Granado made an initial appearance on a child endangerment charge and a domestic abuse assault-first offense charge. Patrick Peters is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 1. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Dawn Dorothy Young made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 15 in Magistrate Court.
• Macy Marie Goecke made an initial appearance on a speeding charge and a driving under suspension charge. Goecke pleaded guilty to the speeding charge and the fine is $55 with a $8.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $118.25. A pre-trial conference is scheduled on the driving under suspension charge at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 15 in Magistrate Court.
• Michael Andrew Rangel failed to appear on a no insurance charge and a driving under suspension charge and the court found Rangel guilty on both charges. The fine on the no insurance is $325 with a $48.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $428.75. The fine on the driving under suspension is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.
• Ashley Marie Hazen made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 15 in Magistrate Court.
• Rigoberto Galvez made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Galvez pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• On Sunday, Oct. 22, Tessa Mora, 42, was arrested on a warrant charging her with violation of probation.
• On Saturday, Oct. 21, Joshua Bailey, 24, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of probation, three counts of driving while barred-habitual offender and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• On Friday, Oct. 20, Stanley Fenske Jr., 58, was arrested for violation of parole.
Accidents
• On Monday, Oct. 16, a car driven by Aidan Riley Hugen, 21, was traveling southbound on Main Street Road when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hugen car was estimated at $5,000.
• On Friday, Oct. 13, a car driven by Joshua Robert Clawson, 26, of Albion, was northbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway resulting in heavy front end and windshield damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Clawson car was estimated at $10,000.
• On Wednesday, Oct. 11, an SUV druiven by Joi Marie Benedict, 68, of St. Anthony, was westbound on 160th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway causing functional damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Benedict SUV was estimated at $3,500.
• On Friday, Oct. 6, an SUV driven by Janice Eileen Richmond, 55, of Newton, was northbound on Highway 14 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Richmond SUV was estimated at $3,000.
• On Thursday, Oct. 5, a passenger van driven by Gary Ray Lippart, 70, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on 190th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Lippart van was estimated at $5,000.
• On Tuesday, Oct. 3, a minivan driven by Valentin Aguilar, 68, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Sanford Avenue when it struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Aguilar minivan was estimated at $7,500.
