• Marcos Eduardo Perez Sanchez made an initial appearance on a interference with official acts charge. Dusty Clements is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on April 3 in Magistrate Court.
• Jeffrey Lynn Ross made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Joel Fenton is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Ross is being held without bond.
• Jeremy Boyd Finks made an initial appearance on an eluding charge, two counts of a criminal mischief charge, an assault on persons in certain occupations-display or use of a weapon charge, an operating while under the influence-first offense charge, two counts of a failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way charge and a speeding charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 29. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Rosalio Cecilio Hernandez made an initial appearance through an interpreter on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Leah Patton is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Consuelo Sanchez made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge, a no insurance charge and a fraudulent use of registration charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on April 9.

Accidents
• On Sunday, March 3, a pickup driven by Roberto Garza, 27, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Sand Road when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Garza pickup was estimated at $4,000.
• On Mondau, Feb. 26, a motorcycle driven by Taya Lynn Kroener, 21, of Melbourne, was eastbound on 290th Street traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. Kroener was transported to UnityPoint Emergency Room with injuries. Damage to the Kroener motorcycle was estimated at $20,000.
