• Manuel John Rodriguez made an initial appearance on a controlled substance violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on May 13. Bond is set at $25,000 cash. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Steven Ray Lund made an initial appearance on a paroled violation charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Lund is being held without bond.

• Juan Antonio Parra made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on May 15 in Magistrate Court.

• Lorrie Justis Stewart made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Stewart pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

• Daniel Alcocer Rangel made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Alcocer Rangel pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

• Marshall Freeman Hooper made an initial appearance on a burglary-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on May 23.

• Por Reh made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a no insurance charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on May 23.

Arrests

• On Thursday, May 2, Dana Graff, 43, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, May 2, Mary Goad, 30, was arrested on a warrant charging her with violation of probation.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, April 30, a pickup driven by Michelle Lynn Pritchett, 39, of State Center, was traveling on hart Avenue when the driver attempted to avoid a deer in the roadway, ran off the road to the left, entered the ditch and struck a field drive causing the pickup to go airborne briefly, hit the ground and rolled landing on the driver’s side door. No injuries were reported. The damage to the Pritchett pickup was estimated at $15,000.
