• Jayde John Winn Easton made an initial appearance on two counts of a violation of probation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on July 12. Easton is being held without bond.

• Ian Robert Turnbull made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on June 17. Bond is set at $2,000 cash in the defendant’s name only.

• Robert Anthony Ratliff made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Benjamin Harris-Medina is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Ratliff is being held without bond.

• Felly Litalema Amisi made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a sentencing hearing and on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge. The sentencing hearing is rescheduled for 12 p.m. on June 24. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only in the defendant’s name. Arach Wilson III is appointed as counsel on the possession charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on June 17. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Nicholas William Uthe made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on June 26. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• On Wednesday, June 5, Jayde Easton, 20, was arrested for violation of probation.

Incidents

• On Monday, May 25, a burglary involving damage to property and a theft was reported on Jessup Avenue, Melbourne.

• On Friday, May 22, a theft was reported in the 100 block of Main Street in Albion.

Accidents

• On Friday, May 31, a car driven by Justino Fernandez Reyes, 53, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Highway 330 at the intersection with 250th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway receiving heavy front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Fernandez Reyes car was estimated at $7,500.

• On Wednesday, May 29, a car driven by Adam Samuel Murphy, 36, of Liscomb, was northbound on Marsh Avenue when a deer struck the front bumper resulting in the car swerving and going out of control and entering the east ditch where it came to rest. A 35-year-old male passenger received injuries to his face requiring medical attention. Damage to the Murphy car was estimated at $3,000.

• On Tuesday, May 28, a pickup driven by Dawson Michael Kitzman, 21, of Beaman, was eastbound on 160th Street at the intersection with Meyer Avenue when a deer entered the roadway causing the driver to attempt to miss the deer. The soft shoulder sucked the pickup into the ditch where it came to rest against a light pole. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Kitzman pickup was estimated at $9,000.

• On Monday, May 27, a car driven by Paul Campbell Peglow, 72, of Marshalltown, was northbund on Highway 330 when he struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Peglow car was estimated at $8,000.
