• Beau Allen Malcolm made an initial appearance on an assault charge. Patrick Peters is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 28 in Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $300 cash. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Ronald Allen Oliver made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-first offense charge and a failure to maintain control charge. A preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 9. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• On Sunday, July 21, Juan Hernandez, 36, was arrested for harassment-first degree-threaten forcible felony and domestic abuse assault-resident member.

• On Sunday, July 21, Jaqueline Carbajal Urena, 26, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.

• On Sunday, July 21, Wilmer Velaquez Mejia, 26, was arrested for no insurance, no valid driver’s license, driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended and domestic abuse assault-first offense-causing bodily injury.

• On Sunday, July 21, Juan Velez, 30, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant.

• On Saturday, July 20, Robert Bird Jr., 39, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Saturday, July 20, Daniel Ceballos-Garcia, 24, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Saturday, July 20, Sk Singemasa, 27, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offene and driving while license is denied or revoked.

• On Friday, July 19, Travis Davis, 33, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of parole.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, July 16, a Jeep driven by Wadnise Esterma, 32, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Highway 330 when struck a deer on the driver’s side that entered the roadway. no injuries were reported. Damage to the Esterma Jeep was estimated at $1,500.
