• Lavonne Clarice Jefferson made an initial appearance on a warrant for failure to appear on a pre-trial release revocation charge. Pre-trial release revoked. Bond set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Ethan Michael Garrett made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. Mark Torche will continue as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is set for 2 p.m. on March 26. Garrett is being held without bond.

• Lisa Nichole Speicher made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The probation revocation hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. on March 26. Speicher is being held without bond.

• Jeffery James Heslop made an initial appearance on three counts of a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing is set for 11 a.m. on March 28. Heslop is being held without bond.

• David Sanchez made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-second offense charge and an interference with official acts-bodily injury charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 7. Bond is set at $2,000 cash. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Antonio Casarez Jr.made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge and a disorderly conduct charge. Casarez pleaded guilty to both charges and the fine is $210 with a $31.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $301.50.

• Brett Allen Ellison made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge. the public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 17. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Martin Espinosa Gonzalez made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense charge, a driving while barred charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Tyler Haberman is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 17. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• On Tuesday, Feb. 25, Lisa Speicher, 47, was arrested on a warrant charging her with violation of probation.

Accidents

• On Thursday, Feb. 20, a car driven by Chance Wayne Krough, 38, of State Center, was southbound on Hart Avenue in rural Marshall County when the driver swerved to iss a collision with a deer and entered the east ditch where he continued southbound until colliding with a culvert. No injuries were reported. The Krough car was a total loss valued at $8,000.
