• Prince Jallah made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for arraignment charge. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on July 30. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.
• Leonardo Daniel Del Real Sanchez made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for arraignment charge. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on July 30. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.
Del Real Sanchez was also seen for possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on July 28. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Brandon Dennard Powell made an initial appearance on a theft-second degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on July 28. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.
• Larry Thomas Stewart made an initial appearance on a theft-second degree charge and a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on July 28. Bond is set at $7,000 cash or surety.
• Jonathan Joseph Wedgwood made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Michael Ericson is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Wedgwood is being held without bond.
• Tyler John Pohlman made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• A 14-year-old male made an initial appearance on a curfew violation charge. The juvenile pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.
• Taylor Dawn Lynch failed to appear for a rabies vaccination violation charge and the court found her guilty. The fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.
• Ranjeet Singh failed to appear on a failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way charge and the court found him guilty. The fine is $135 with a $20.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $210.25.
• David Yepez Hernandez made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 7. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Beau Brandi Simpson made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. The pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 6 in Magistrate Court.
• Adrian Lavelle McBride made an initial appearance on a driving unde suspension charge and a speeding charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 6 in Magistrate Court.
• Victor Gonzales made an initial appearance on an interference with official acts charge. The pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 13 in Magistrate Court.

• On Thursday, July 17, Pablo Koval, 49, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.
• On Thursday, July 17, Leonardo Del Real Sanchez, 30, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense and on a warrant.
• On Thursday, July 17, Ryan Papakee Jr., 18, was arrested for trespass-first offense, disorderly conduct and public intoxication-first offense.

• On Thursday, July 17, Larry Stewart, 45, was arrested on a warrant charging him with theft-third degree and theft-second degree.
• On Thursday, July 17, Brandon Powell, 44, was arrested on a warrant charging him with theft-second degree.
• On Thursday, July 17, Kuothethin Diw, 27, was arrested on a warrant charging him with bribery, assault on persons in certain occupations-no injury, domestic abuse assault-first offense causing bodily injury and assault on persons in certain occupations-bodily injury.
Accidents
• On Wednesday, July 16, a car driven by a 16-year-old female from Marshalltown was eastbound on Highway 30 when the driver swerved to miss hitting a deer carcass and exited the roadway to the left striking a cable barrier and deploying the car’s airbags. The girl was transported to UnityPoint-Marshalltown by a parent. Damage to the car was estimated at $3,000.
• On Sunday, July 13, a car driven by Wyatt Aaron Tharp, 27, of Jefferson, was westbound on Highway 30 when a deer ran into the front driver’s side of the car. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Tharp car was estimated at $3,000.
• On Monday, July 7, a SUV driven by Mitchell Aaron Jaeck, 26, of Mount Pleasant, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway from the south. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Jaeck SUV was estimated at $5,000.
