• Phillip Ray Pencil made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an initial on a speeding charge and a driving under suspension charge and the court found him guilty on both charges. The fine on the speeding charge is $35 with a $4.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $89.50 plus $35 in miscellaneous fees. The fine on the driving under suspension is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50 plus $42 in miscellaneous fees.

• Michael Guy Wabaunasee made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Jennifer Weaver is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Wabaunasee is being held without bond.

• Bryan Adam Garcia made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Garcia is being held without bond.

• Jesus Brian Garcia Gomez made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-first offense charge, a child endangerment charge and an obstruction of emergency communication charge. Patrick Peters is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 17. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• David Duane Propp made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for arraignment charge. The arraignment hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash.

• Ragan Elizabeth Victor made an initial appearance on a reckless driving charge and two counts of a striking fixtures on a highway charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 3 in Magistrate Court.

• Brandon Allen Claude Wolken made an initial appearance on an unlawful passing of a school bus-first offense charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 3 in Magistrate Court.

• Toshia Tanee Arends made an initial appearance on an unlawful passing of a school bus-first offense charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 3 in Magistrate Court.

Accidents

• On Thursday, Nov. 6, a car driven by Joel David Sampson, 40, of Colo, was westbound on Iowa Avenue West when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Sampson car was estimated at $1,500.

• On Thursday, Nov. 6, a minivan driven by Garrison Oppman, 64, of Marshalltown, was traveling on 190th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway from the north ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Oppman minivan was estimated at $1,500.
