• Jesse Hernandez made an initial appearance on two counts of a contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order charge. Brian Mercy is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash in defendant’s name only for each charge. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Fortunato Pena made an initial appearance on an unlawful passing of a school bus-first offense charge. Pena pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

• A 14-year-old male made an initial appearance on a curfew violation charge. The juvenile pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• Dieuvilet Guillaume made an initial appearance on a speeding charge, a failure to yield to an emergency vehicle charge and a driving under suspension charge. Guillaume pleaded guilty to all charges. The fine on the speeding charge is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $175.75. The fine on the failure to yield charge is $135 with a $20.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $210.25. The fine on the driving under suspension charge is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

Arrests

• On Wednesday, Dec. 3, Saphrona Baker, 43, was arrested for two counts of protocol to register vicious animal and interference with enforcement officer.

• On Wednesday, Dec. 3, Consuelo Sanchez, 32, was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Wednesday, Dec. 3, Jesse Hernandez, 29, was arrested for two counts of contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

Arrests

• On Wednesday, Dec. 3, Daesha Underhill, 27, was arrested on a warrant charging her with contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order and domestic abuse assault-first offense-causing bodily injury.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, Nov. 26, an SUV driven by Charles Howard Williams, 62, of Gilman, was southbound on Zeller Avenue when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by a northbound vehicle resulting in the deer going back into the southbound lane where the Williams SUV also struck the deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Williams SUV was estimated at $9,000. The northbound vehicle never turned in a report.

• On Tuesday, Nov. 25, a car driven by Amanda Marie Boyd, 24, of Ames, was eastbound on Iowa Avenue West when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Boyd car was estimated at $4,000.
