• Dylan Michael Aswegan made an initial appearance on a failure to file an arraignment charge. The arraignment will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court.
• Jose Eduardo Rodriguez Lopez made an initial appearance on three counts of a child endangerment charge, a driving while barred charge and a domestic abuse assault resulting in injury or mental illness-first offense charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 9, 2026. Bond is set at $7,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Michael Joseph Fleck made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge, a no insurance charge, an operating without registration charge and a fraudulent use of registration charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 20, 2026.

• On Tuesday, Dec. 30, Dylan Aswegan, 34, was arrested on a warrant.
• On Tuesday, Dec. 30, Cesar Marroquin, 35, was arrested for operating while under the influence-second offense.
• On Tuesday, Dec. 30, Michael Fleck, 48, was arrested for driving while license is revoked.

Accidents
• On Friday, Dec. 26, a Jeep driven by Ashlee Elizabeth Hovell, 26, of Blairsburg, was westbound on 190th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hovell Jeep was estimated at $4,000.
• On Thursday, Dec. 25, a pickup driven by Isaiah Anthony Lingo, 29, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Hart Avenue when it swerved to miss hitting a deer that entered the roadway resulting in Lingo losing control and entering the west ditch where he struck a No Passing Zone sign. Lingo sustained an injury to his right shoulder and some bruising to his right eyebrow, but did not seek medical attention. Lingo was cited for no insurance-accident, striking fixtures on the highway and failure to maintain control. Damage to the Lingo pickup was estimated at $2,000 while the No Passing sign received an estimated $200 in damage.
• On Thursday, Dec. 18, a Jeep driven by Christina Marie Zednichek, of Garwin, was southbound on Highway 14/Sanford Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Zednichek Jeep was estimated at $9,000.
