A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Demetrius Lovell Holmes Jr. made an initial appearance on a voluntary absence from custody charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 20. Holmes is being held without bond.

• Issaias Romero made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a no insurance-accident charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 20.

• Carlos Alberto Maravilla Avalos made an initial appearance on a compulsory education violation charge. Maravilla Avalos pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $15 surcharge and county costs of $218 for a total of $333.

• Giles Evan Richard Clark made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. Pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 11 in Magistrate Court.
