• Travis John Kruse made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Kruse is being held without bond.
• Shelbie Des Garcia made an initial appearance on a pre-trial release violation charge. Pre-trial release is revoked. Bond is set at $5,000 cash in defendant’s name only.
• Christopher David Hanner made an initial appearance on a contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order charge. The contempt hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 23. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Kayden Kenneth Albert Wallen made an initial appearance on a person under 21 using tobacco or vapor product-first offense charge. The fine is $70.
• Mohrgon Sage Wells Marquez made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a..m. on April 2. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Isela Sandoval made an initial appearance on a driving undere suspension charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on April 1 in Magistrate Court.
• Winner Kokou Banissan made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Banissan pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.
• Jeremy Carl Odom made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on April 1 in Magistrate Court.
• Mu Win Paw made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on April 1 in Magistrate Court.

Accidents
• On Thursday, March 12, a car driven by Mary Chebet Negrete, 40, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Highway 330 when it struck a raccoon that ran onto the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Negrete car was estimated at $2,000.
• On Wednesday, March 11, a van driven by Martha Martinez, 46, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Reed Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Martinez van was estimated at $5,000.
• On Friday, March 6, a van driven by Lori Kay Bridgman, 47, of Le Grand, was southbound on Sanford Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. The driver was transported to UnityPoint Marshalltown by ambulance. Damage to the Bridgman van was estimated at $20,000.
• On Wednesday, March 4, an SUV driven by David William Bailey Jr., 48, of Albion, was northbound on Marsh Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bailey SUV was estimated at $10,000.
• On Monday, March 2, an SUV driven by Chineda Williamceau, 37, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Sanford Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Williamceau SUV was estimated at $3,000.
• On Saturday, Feb. 28, a car driven by Steven Joseph Hyde, 78, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Highland Acres Road when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hyde car was estimated at $4,000.
