• Clarence Castile Jr. made an initial appearance on an assault while displaying a dangerous weapon charge and two counts of a harassment-first degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on May 11. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Rene Martinez made an initial appearance on an assault committed by a person against whom a protective order is issued charge, a domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness-first offense charge, a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge, a theft-fifth degree charge, an interference with official acts charge and a obstruction of emergency communications charge. Patrick Peters is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing on the new charges is set for 9:30 a.m. on May 11. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only in defendant’s name only. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
