• Tidial Maker Kuany made an initial appearance on a violation of parole charge. Logan Kelleher is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Kuany is being held without bond.
• Ezequiel Reyes Avila made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge, a person ineligible to carry a dangerous weapon charge, a driving under suspension charge, a speeding charge and a careless driving charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 3. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Nickolas Ray Glenn made an initial appearance on a trespass-first offense charge. Glenn pleaded guilty and the fine is $500 with a $75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $630.
• Joshua Gilbert Sells made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge, a stopped on travel portion of unpaved highway charge and possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Julia Cutler is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 13. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Jordyn Mary Hanus made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Brian Mercy is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 13. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Felecity Louise Philo made an initial appearance on a fireworks violation charge. Philo pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.
• Estrella Leyva made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. Leyva pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.
• Erik Gustavo Bedoy Navarro made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Bedoy Navarro pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• On Thursday, July 23, William Speas, 66, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense, driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended and driving while barred-habitual offender.
• On Thursday, July 23, Nickolas Glenn, 38, was arrested for trespass-first offense.
• On Thursday, July 23, Tyson Peters, 39, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
• On Thursday, July 23, Jeremy Gandy, 37, was arrested for reckless driving, operating while under the influence-first offense, speeding and failure to yield upon entering a stop/yield intersection.
• On Thursday, July 23, Brandon Mitchell, 43, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Accidents
• On Thursday, June 25, a vehicle driven by Orion Key Gunderson, 28, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Reed Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gunderson vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
