• Isaac Lopez-Facio made an initial appearance on a violation of parole charge. Jennifer Weaver is acting as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge.

Lopez-Facio was also seen on an escape from custody charge. Mark Olberding is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 10. Lopez-Facio is being held on both charges without bond.

• David Edward Bolin made an initial appearance on a violation of parole charge. Arach Wilson is acting as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Bolin is being held without bond.

• Carina Clarice Victor made an initial appearance on two counts of a violation of probation charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Victor is being held without bond.

• Trey Eugene King made an initial appearance on a sex offender registration violation-second or subsequent offense charge. Brian Mercy is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 10. Bond is set at $10,000 cash in defendant's name only.

• Robert Barrera Viramontes Jr. made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 10. Bond is set at $2,000 cash in defendant's name only. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Justin Lee Moor made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Moor pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• Caster Jo Salina made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 in Magistrate Court.Jennifer Weaver is acting as counsel.

• Carson Benjamin Scheidegger made an initial appearance through counsel, Sean Spellman, on an operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The preliminary hearing is waived. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, July 28, Darryl Watson, 52, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Tuesday, July 28, Isaac Lopez, 46, was arrested on a warrant charging him with escape from custody and violation of parole.

• On Tuesday, July 28, Trey King, 31, was arrested on a warrant charging him with sex offender registration violation-second or subsequent offense.

Accidents

• On Friday, July 3, an SUV driven by Xander Jason Scott Brittain, 23, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Highway 30 when he reacted to emergency lights behind and moved over into the right lane where it collided with the rear of an SUV driven by Stacy Lynn Oltrogge, 51, of Marshalltown, which had struck a deer and became inoperable in the traveled portion of the roadway with flashing hazard lights. Brittain was transported to UnityPoint Hospital by ambulance. Brittain was cited for failure to stop in an assured, clear distance. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $10,000 each.
