• Andrew Charles Stengele II made an initial appearance on a leaving the scene of an accident-vehicle damage only charge and a theft-fifth degree charge. A pre-trial conference is set at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 9 in Magistrate Court for the leaving the scene charge. Stengele pleaded guilty to the theft charge and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• Randy Brent Holsinger made an initial appearance on two counts of maximum gross weight violation charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 9 in Magistrate Court.

• On Tuesday, Aug. 11, Jessica Menzel, 35, was arrested on a warrant charging her with intent to manufacture or deliver false heroin under 100 g and intent to manufacture or deliver heroin 100 g or under.
Accidents
• On Saturday, Aug. 1, a car driven by Jennifer Lee Mayberry, 46, of Iowa City, was eastbound on 295th Street when it swerved to miss a deer that had jumped onto the roadway and entered a ditch. Mayberry was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Damage to the Mayberry car was estimated at $10,000.
