• Juliet Arabella Fernandez made an initial appearance on a theft-second degree charge, a forgery charge, an identity theft more than $1,500 charge, a fraudulent practice-second degree charge and a tampering with records charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 27.
• Devon Dewaine Lentz made an initial appearance on two counts of a possession of contraband in a correctional facility charge, a possession of methamphetamine-frist offense charge and a possession of marijuana-first offense charge. The public defender's office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 27. Bond is set at $6,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Emilio Romero made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The probation revocation hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 4. Romero is being held without bond.
• Vicente Ronaldo Rodriguez made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a failure to yield to a vehicle on the right charge. Rodriguez pleaded guilty to the failure to yield charge and the fine is $135 with a $20.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $210.25. A pre-trial conference is set for the driving under suspension charge at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 23 in Magistrate Court.

Arrests
• On Saturday, Aug. 15, Marlon Gantt, 50, was arrested for driving under suspension-No SR22 on file, operating without ignition interlock device, interference with official acts, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, possession of drug paraphernalia, eluding, driving while barred-habitual offender and possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense.
• On Friday, Aug. 14, Joshua Evans, 22, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.
Accidents
• On Friday, Aug. 14, an SUV driven by Sher Ku Paw, 34, of Des Moines, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Paw SUV was estimated at $4,000.

• On Sunday, Aug. 16, Devon Lentz, 26, was arrested for possession of contraband in a correctional facility, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine-first offense and possession of marijuana-first offense.
• On Sunday, Aug. 16, Jesus Mares, 39, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense, domestic abuse assault-separated spouse and harassment-third degree.
• On Sunday, Aug. 16, David Monge Sanchez, 19, was arrested for theft-fifth degree-shoplifting.
• On Friday, Aug. 14, Orlando Hernandez, 52, was arrested for child endangerment-substantial risk and domestic abuse assault-first offense causing bodily injury.
• On Friday, Aug. 14, Angel Lizarde-Garcia, 38, was arrested on a warrant.
• On Friday, Aug. 14, Nolan Walker, 39, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.
• On Friday, Aug. 14, Lucas Hulin, 32, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.
• On Friday, Aug. 14, Andrea Murillo, 27, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.
• On Friday, Aug. 18, Lesly Hernandez, 21, was arrested for speeding, no insurance-no accident, possession of marijuana-first offense and driving while barred-habitual offender.
