Patrick Peters is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 31. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Megan Marie Walker made an initial appearance on two counts of a assault causing bodily injury or mental illness charge. The public defender's office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 31. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Scott William Doc Slocum made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 10.

• Marlon Lee Gantt made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge, a driving while barred charge, an eluding charge, an operating without interlock device charge, an interference with official acts charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a driving under suspension charge and a driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway charge. The public defender's office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 10. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Alannah Maya Perez made an initial appearance on a failure to carry a registration card charge, a failure to use headlamps when required charge, an operating while under the influence-first offense charge and a no insurance charge. The public defender's office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 31. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Dulce Maria Gonzalez made an initial appearance on an assault-general charge. Brian Mercy is appointed as counsel. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 23 in Magistrate Court.

• Tamasha Katimbo made an initial appearance on a violation of instruction permit limitation charge. Katimbo pleaded guilty and the fine is $70 with a $10.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $135.50.

• Siddhartha Pathak made an initial appearance on a failure to change lanes upon approach to emergency stationary vehicles-no injury charge. A pre-trial conference is set at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 16 in Magistrate Court.

• Manuel Velasquez Pena made an initial appearance on a speeding charge and a no insurance charge.

Velasquez Pena pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on the speeding charge is $30 with a $4.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $89.50. The fine on the no insurance charge is $325 with a $48.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $428.75.
