• Justin Lee Smith made an initial appearance on a child endangerment charge and a domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness-first offense charge. Dusty Clements is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 3. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Anthony Jonathan Harding made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a dark windows violation charge and two counts of a violation of probation charge. The public defender's office is appointed as counsel for the new charges. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 3. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Harding is being held without bond.

• Medardo Rodriguez Fajardo made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-third or subsequent offense charge and two counts of a child endangerment charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept.. 3. Bond is set at $5,000 cash. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Debra Sue Grove made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-second offense charge, a possession of marijuana-first offense charge and an assault causing bodily injury or mental illness charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 3. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Dajour Dupree Sawyers made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact/contempt of court charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 16 in Magistrate Court. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Fernando Jose Juan Barboza Velazco failed to appear on a driving under suspension charge and a dark window violation charge and the court found him guilty on both counts. The fine on the driving under suspension is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50. The fine on the dark windows is $70 with a $10.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $135.50.

• Kristin Isabelle Jefferson made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 16 in Magistrate Court.

• Shelton Dallas Marie Coleman failed to appear on a driving under suspension charge and the court found her guilty. The fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

• Lesley Viviana Rios made an initial appearance on an assault causing bodily injury or mental illness charge. The public defender's office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 11. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Kinzer Philip Michael Jaennette made an initial appearance on an excessive speed charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 16 in Magistrate Court.

• David Monge Sanchez made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 16 in Magistrate Court.

• On Sunday, Aug. 23, Debra Grove, 43, was arrested for assault causing bodily injury or mental illness-no intent, possession of marijuana-second offense and operating while under the influence-second offense.

• On Saturday, Aug. 22, David Grieson, 41, was arrested for open container and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Saturday, Aug. 22, Tia Clark, 46, was arrested on a warrant charging her with violation of probation.
