• AC Phaymone Cavan made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. Julia Cutler is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Cavan is being held without bond.
• Carlos Elias Carrillo made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a no insurance-accident charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 28.
• Francisco Hernandez made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-third or subsequent offense charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore has been appointed as counsel. The next hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Fernando Vargas, 23, was arrested on a warrant charging him with driving while license is denied or revoked, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness-no intent and harassment-first degree-threaten forcible felony.
